User Research
Insights and survey results
To get a better understanding of what people wanted from this, I surveyed ~40 people. I wanted to hear the motivation behind wanting to take a class, and what were their current challenges.
90%
73%
of people said they would want to learn something new
of people said they have taken a class just for fun
85%
of people said they preferred a real classroom to a digital one

People felt a lack of motivation to "show up" or "attend". They would often buy classes when there was a sale, then never take them.
People preferred a real classroom to a digital one?

People felt that learning online prevented them from having a hands on learning experience. They couldn't connect to the instructor, or ask questions easily
People want to learn new things
People are willing to pay for these services
People trust these services when their is social proof (think airbnb, yelp)

People want to turn their hobbies/skills into profits
People want to learn new skills and meet new people
How might we get these two type of people together?
